News from Germany!! Confirmation of the Dambusters2013 Events at the Mohne Dam...

Dambusters2013 starts with an iconic event hosted by RAF Scampton's Heritage Centre on 14th May between 09.30am and midday including a flypast by two of 617 Sqdn's Tornado GR4 fast jets complete with commemorative tail art .....

Now we have the confirmation we needed to let everyone know that we have an equally 'iconic' event at the other end of our ride to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the dams raid. We are asking our riders to plan their route so that they can arrive at the car park next to the Mohne Dam by 3pm on 16th May 2013.

We will be met there by contacts and bikers from the local council who will lead us on a joint UK/German ride out around the Mohnesee!! This will finish around 4.15pm which will give all the Dambusters2013 riders time to check into their accommodation or grab a beer or two before we will all make our way back to the Mohne Dam for 11.30pm on the night of the 16th May. We will be joined there by the local mayor who will take part in our small commemoration of the raid and the lives lost on both sides of the conflict that raged in 1943. He will lay a wreath on the water of the Mohnesee, as will the 'Dambusters2013' team.

All in all it should be a moving gathering ...... lets hope for a dry evening!!!

Only two weeks to go now and the Dambusters2013 Rider Packs are starting to flow out to registered riders who have donated their £250 at the Dambusters2013 VirginMoneyGiving site ..... have we sent you yours yet???
